Yes, when we left for our tour of the lighthouses of Maine today it was 29 degrees outside and we were warned to be careful as we went down the gangplank as there was ICE! Check it out!

The Portland Head Lighthouse was originally built with funds appropriated by President Washington in 1791! Another interesting fact - which helps explain the following multiple pictures of this lighthouse - is that it is the MOST photographed lighthouse in the world....and I can attest to that fact as there were many angles that were as unique as the previous. Here are the best of my many shots......
